Endoscopy Training

  • Numbers that lead to competency and privileges after graduation
    • Colonoscopy – average 75-100 (50 required)
    • EGD – average 25-50
  • Five of our faculty are certified, privileged, and teaching the residents in EGD and Colonoscopy
  • Elective endoscopy rotation (to boost numbers)
  • Numerous area family physicians and surgeons who are willing to train our residents in endoscopic skills

OB Ultrasound

  • State-of-the-art “4-D” (live 3-D surface scanning) OB ultrasound within our Family Medicine Clinics
  • OB ultrasound training via the faculty and OB ultrasonographers in the clinic
  • Additional OB ultrasound training in biometry, structural analysis, and surface scanning (4-D) at our affiliated rotational site

Dysplasia evaluation and treatment

  • Dysplasia Clinic (staffed by our faculty)
  • Colposcopy training
  • LEEP and LEEP-conization training

Hospital-Based procedures (“lines, needles, and tubes”)

  • Chest Tubes
  • Central Lines
  • Ventilator and BiPAP management
  • Thorocentesis
  • Lumbar Puncture
