International Medicine

International Medicine is a challenging field of service that requires an exceptional level of expertise, skill, and confidence to care for patients in resource-limited areas throughout the world.
An international rotation is available for our residents at various locations throughout the world with physicians who can act as appropriate teaching attendings during rotation.
If you are considering a long-term comittment to oversees medical missions, we be strongly encourage you to consider our International Medicine rotation during your residency. This rotation would allow you to determine if this area of service is satisfying for you and ignites your passion, and help you determine the skills needed for future service.
The International Medicine rotation is 4-weeks long, and typically is done in the third year of training. It is done as a substitute for the normal rural rotation, since international rotations tend to be very rural and remote.
